Alcohol Education Trust
The Alcohol Education Trust (AET) is a small national children’s charity which works across the UK to keep children safe around alcohol. They provide long term positive change through early educational intervention with young people through the 2,100+ schools and youth organisations they support each year with their award-winning resources.
Their focus is the reduction of alcohol related harm in young people aged 11-18 through preventative education, so that as they enter adulthood, they do so with a balanced view of alcohol by equipping them with the knowledge and skills to make informed and responsible choices.
They support children, teachers, families and their communities through their multi-platform resources, advice and training. ‘Talk about alcohol’ has been highly evaluated and is evidenced to delay the onset of drinking in young people.
Schools provide the AET with an ideal platform to engage with almost every child and their parents to help them understand risk taking, learn about health and wellbeing, resist peer pressure, develop life skills, understand personal responsibility and the effect of their behaviour on others.
