First of all we wanted to say a big thank you to all of the charities who took the time to complete an application for our Programme of Giving.
We put the call out to charities across the UK, who do great work with children and young people, to tell us what they do, and how they would use £75,000 over the next 3 years.
Our independent panel of judges whittled numerous applications down to their Top 15, and colleagues then voted for their Top 3 charities. The winners details are below.
We’re really looking forward to working with all of the charities over the next 3 years and will be posting updates, photos and more information on our website and social media channels about our ongoing partnerships (including volunteering where we can) with these fantastic charities.
Esteem provides a range of services, including counselling, work experience opportunities and life skills workshops, enabling young people aged 14-26 to realise their value and potential.
Our funding will support Esteem’s Positive Change Programme, which will help young people manage emotions, build social skills and improve mental wellbeing. Additionally, it will deliver courses in activities such as boxing, football and surfing, and connect young people with trained youth workers for tailored guidance.
TRAIN focuses on detached youth work, meeting young people where they are – in parks, town centres and other public spaces – TRAIN can provide immediate and non-judgmental assistance.
The financial support will enable the charity to double its impact, reaching 400 young people each year, by expanding detached youth work sessions to underserved areas, increasing the frequency of their outreach sessions and developing a tailored pathway programme for young people.
Hand in Hand aims to shift young people’s perspectives towards altruism by providing hands-on volunteering opportunities. This approach encourages teenagers and young adults to engage with and support those in need within their communities, helping to develop crucial life skills, such as compassion and resilience.
The funding from us will help to support Hand in Hand’s core activities, including enhancing training and support for volunteers and expanding its outreach efforts to improve the emotional wellbeing of volunteers and service users.
