Sustainability

Ansvar is committed to improving energy efficiency wherever possible and taking a pro-active approach to reducing our carbon footprint.

This is how we’re working to reduce our carbon footprint:

  • Moving to a new office provided us with a 71.29% reduction in total energy usage (as per EPC), and a 79.53% decrease in Carbon Emissions (as per EPC)
  • The building is Rated BREEAM Excellent, putting it in the top 10% of UK new non-domestic buildings.
  • All lighting is high efficiency LED
  • Having PIR light sensors fitted throughout etc.
  • We have live plants in our office for decoration as well as the benefits they give the working environment, such as cleaner air and improving oxygen levels
  • We don’t use paper or plastic cups – only cups and mugs that can be washed and re-used

Activities to manage our waste reduction have been in place for several years and we actively recycle the following waste products:

  • Paper - Ansvar is part of the Shred-it recycling program and recycle an amount equivalent to 50 trees each year
  • Toner cartridges
  • Cardboard
  • Plastic bottles
  • Tin cans
  • And finally, 100% of our policy documents and brochures are sent electronically or by post (unless we are asked to supply printed versions for people with accessibility needs)
